KATHMANDU: Speaker Devraj Ghimire has issued a ruling stating that reading newspapers during parliamentary meetings is prohibited.

Speaker Ghimire’s ruling was prompted by the occurrence of parliamentarians reading newspapers during today’s meeting of the House of Representatives.

Speaker Ghimire drew the parliamentarians’ attention asking them not to read newspapers.

During today’s session, Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha was responding to the queries raised by lawmakers regarding the Appropriation Bill.
