Trade Union Congress prepares for election to get new leadership



KATHMANDU: Nepal Trade Union Congress has prepared for a vote to elect a new leadership under its seventh National General Convention that began on June 19.

Two panels have announced their candidacies in the election. Union’s incumbent senior vice-president Mahendra Prasad Yadav and general secretary Yogendra Kumar Kunwar will be competing for the post of president.

According to General Convention election committee coordinator senior advocate Yogendra Bahadur Adhikari, the voting will commence at 4:00 pm today.

A total of 880 representatives will be taking part in the voting to elect a 49-member new executive committee.
