900 ropanis of TU land occupied by 20 institutes

KATHMANDU: As many as 20 institutes have been using 900 ropanis of land belonging to Tribhuvan University, a news in Naya Patrika daily said.

Those using land range from police post to religious institute. However, TU does not have proper details of these institutes. Some of them started using the land at the recommendation from the central government  while some have been operating by breaching the TU land.

Some of these institutes occupying the land are profit-making. They are operating at the protection of TU office bearers while the others are running under the aegis of politicians.

TU, Kirpur has a total of 3, 613 ropanis of land. A one-third of total land is being occupied by individuals and institutes.
