Citizenship demanding protestors and police clash at Maitighar



KATHMANDU: A clash broke out between the participants of the Citizenshipless People’s Struggle Committee and the police in Maitighar Mandala, Kathmandu.

Clashes broke out after the citizenship victims tried to enter the restricted area during their protest on Tuesday.

Two protestors are injured in the head, and many are detained by the police, a protestor said.

They have been protesting in Maitighar for a long time seeking their right to citizenship.

The protestors seek SC initiations to pave way to provide citizenship as provisioned in the newly ratified Citizenship Bill.
