ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers: Nepal set 291 runs target against Zimbabwe

KATHMANDU: Nepal has set a target of 291 runs to the home team Zimbabwe in the ICC Cricket World Cup qualifying match played on Sunday.

After losing the toss at the Harare Sports Club, Nepal scored 290 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.

Nepal’s openers, Kushal Bhurtel and Asif Shaikh shared a record 171 runs; however, the other batsmen could not stand the spell of Zimbabwe ballers. Bhurtel was dismissed after scoring 99 runs whereas Aasif got dismissed for 66 runs.

Similarly, Kushal Malla played an innings of 41 runs and captain Rohit Paudel played an innings of 31 runs.

Nepal could only add 44 runs after losing 6 wickets in the last 7 overs.
