Dr. Koirala pledges to initiate NC reforms

CHITWAN: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has made a firm commitment to implementing significant reforms within the party.

During his speech at the 11th convention of the Democratic Lawyers Association, an organization affiliated with NC, held in Ratnanagar, Chitwan, Dr. Koirala expressed his determination to bring about a complete overhaul in the party.

He urged leaders and members associated with the association to thoroughly assess the Nepali Congress in Chitwan, engage with the party members, and provide suggestions on potential improvements and future strategies. He emphasized that no effort would be spared in the pursuit of party reforms.

Furthermore, Dr. Koirala called upon all party members to unite and align the democratic movement of Nepal with the prevailing political sentiments in the country.

“There are concerns among some pro-democracy activists that the democratic movement has deviated from its path, and they may be disappointed with us,” he acknowledged. “It is crucial for us to unite and connect the democratic movement of Nepal with the predominant political sentiment in order to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to us by our predecessors.”

Leader Koirala further criticized party leaders for disregarding the party’s statutes, policies, and regulations while neglecting significant issues.

He shared that the upcoming local elections, general elections, and by-elections present both challenges and opportunities for the party.
