Coalition leaders urge govt to prioritize job creation in policy and programs



KATHMANDU: The top leaders of the ruling coalition partners have suggested the government introduce the upcoming policies and programs and budget according to the highest priority to agriculture, tourism, education, and employment generation.

In the meeting summoned by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Minister of Finance Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat to solicit suggestions from the leaders of ruling coalition partners in Singha Durbar on Tuesday, the top leaders called for policies and programs that could prevent youths of the country migrating abroad for jobs.

Emerging from the meeting, CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Hitraj Pandey said, “The incumbent government is going to introduce policies and programs and budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The PM and Finance Minister sought recommendations from leaders of the ruling coalition regarding the issues to be considered in the upcoming budget. We furnished recommendations accordingly.”

In the wake of the parliamentarians putting forth their views on the principles and priorities in the parliament, the leaders attending the meeting on Tuesday were asked by the PM and the Finance Minister to submit their suggestions in writing.

Rastriya Janamorcha Chairman Chitra Bahadur KC informed that they discussed current national affairs including the economic system and suggested that upcoming policies and programs should improve the economic system.

Present in the meeting were Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, Janata Samajwadi Party Chairman Upendra Yadav, Nepal Samajwadi Party Chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai, among others.
