One dies, 33 get injured in Palpa bus mishap

BUTWAL: One person died and 33 people got injured in a bus accident at Jordhara in Palpa on Sunday morning.

According to DSP Birendra Thapa 33 injured people have been sent to Lumbini Medical College Prabhas in Palpa for treatment.

“Three of the injured are in serious condition. The identities of the dead and injured have not been revealed,” DSP Thapa informed.

The Lu 1 Kha 5956 bus, which was going from Butwal to Burtibang in Baglung, met with an accident near Tinau rural municipality-5 Jordhara in Palpa, on the Butwal-Palpa road section on Sunday morning.

The crashed bus fell down about 20 meters from the road and is stuck in a ditch. All the passengers on the bus have been rescued.
Further investigation on the accident is underway, the police said.
