KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has sought the support of CPN-UML Chairman and main opposition party leader KP Oli to pass the Transitional Justice Bill through fast track.

According to Prime Minister Dahal’s secretariat, in the discussion held at Singh Darbar on Friday, the Prime Minister asked for assistance in passing the bill saying that there has been a delay in the delivery of transitional justice.

The TRC Bill has been submitted to the Parliament and the theoretical discussion has already taken place. However, UML has been maintaining a stand that the Bill will not be passed without extensive discussion.

PM Dahal’s secretariat revealed that the top leaders also discussed the appointment of the Chief Justice and the Constitutional Council meeting on the occasion.

The meeting of the Constitutional Council held a few days ago to discuss the appointment of the Chief Justice ended inconclusively.
