Flags of 198 countries hoisted in Ghodabandhe, Baglung

BAGLUNG: Flags of 198 countries have been hoisted in Ghodabandhe view tower of Baglung.

The flags were hoisted to initiate a campaign to develop the view tower as a global cultural village.

The view tower which lies at the meeting point of Kathekhola rural municipality and Galkot municipality in the district is located in a high hill zone.

Tourism campaigner Krishna KC said the view tower was being promoted as the preferred site of foreign tourists for sightseeing.

He further shared the Global Culture Village Nepal has initiated flag hoisting for the publicity of the new tourism site on the occasion of the New Year. KC added a comprehensive Dhaulagiri-Dhorpatan project would be prepared to promote tourism in the area.

“Ghodabanhde is such a site that is rarely found in Nepal. Though it has abundant tourism potential it has been in shadow by a lack of necessary publicity and a paucity of physical infrastructure. We have hoisted flags of 198 countries to widen its publicity. We are planning to unleash its tourism potential in cahoots with local, provincial, and federal levels”.

He shared that Galkot municipality, Jaimini municipality, Baglung municipality, Kathekhola rural municipality, and Bareng rural municipality have shown concern for the publicity of the view tower.
