NEPSE witnesses a mild, single digit growth on Wednesday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) market that had been witnessing the consecutive decline in the first three days of the week, has seen a mild single digit growth on Wednesday.

NEPSE, which decreased for four consecutive days since last Thursday, increased for the fifth day on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the market index NEPSE increased by 8.39 points and closed at 1875.04 points.

The increase in all sub-indices except manufacturing, trade, and non-life insurance led to the stock market’s nominal rise today.

The hotel and tourism sub-index increased by 1.04 percent and the banking sub-index by 0.65 percent. On the other hand, the manufacturing sub-index decreased by 0.10 percent, the non-life insurance sub-index by 0.52 percent and the business sub-index by 0.41 percent.

Despite the increase in NEPSE, the turnover decreased today. On Tuesday, there was a turnover of around 920 million in the market which fell to 816 million on Wednesday. In 21 thousand 504 transactions, the stock market had a trade of around 2,602,956 shares today.

Among those traded on Wednesday, Shivam Cement had the highest turnover of Rs 64.3 million, followed by Nabil Bank Rs 23.6 million.

In the companies traded on Wednesday, the share price of Kalinchok Darshan Limited increased by 9.97 percent and closed at the positive circuit price, while the share price of Lakshmi Microfinance increased by 7.41 percent and the share price of Samata Home Microfinance increased by 6.22 percent.

On the other hand, the share price of Nyadi Hydropower decreased by 4.58 percent, while the share price of Shwetaganga Hydropower decreased by 3.21 percent and the share price of Siddharth Premium Insurance decreased by 2.60 percent.
