Conflict victims’ families meet PM Dahal, demand equitable compensation



KATHMANDU: Families of security personnel who lost their lives to the decade-long armed conflict called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Sunday.

During the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence Baluwatar, they thanked the government for its equal approach to recognize those losing lives to the conflict as martyrs.

They drew the government’s attention to ensure equitable compensation, relief and reparation to the victims representing the rebel and the State sides through the Truth and Reconciliation Bill.

In response, the head of the government said he had equal respect to those all who sacrificed their lives for the cause of socio-political transformations in the nation and the issues of victims would be addressed as per the spirit of the Comprehensive Peace Accord, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
