KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has announced the candidates to contest in the by-elections set for Chitwan-2, Bara-2, and Tanahu-1.

Organizing a press conference at the party office in Basundhara on Saturday, RSP chairman Lamichhane claimed that his party has offered the best candidates in the by-elections.

RSP decided to field Chairman Lamichhane in Chitwan-2, renowned economist Dr. Swarnim Wagle in Tanahu-1, and former DIG Ramesh Kharel in Bara-2.

The tickets were distributed to the candidates at the press conference on Saturday.

Lamichhane, who was elected from Chitwan 2 in the election of November 20, 2022, was dismissed after his citizenship was revoked by the Supreme Court. Dr. Wagle, who had been active in Nepali Congress, reached the decision to join RSP on March 30. He is a renowned economist.

Similarly, Kharel became a candidate in Kathmandu-1 after forming Nepal Sushasan Party under his own leadership in November 20 elections. He was fifth in Kathmandu-1.
