Amjad Aziz Malik bags Asian Sports Journalist Award

KATHMANDU: Amjad Aziz Malik, AIPS Asia Secretary General and president of Pakistan Sports Writer Association, has bagged the first ever Asian Sports Journalist Award in the Pulsar Sports Award 2075.

Organized by Nepal Sports Journalist Forum (NSJF) in association with Action Sports and Goldstar, in the ceremony, Malik was feted with the coveted award amid a function held at Nepal Academy Hall, Kamaladi on Tuesday.

With over 35 years of experience in sports journalism, Malik has covered all major sporting events including the Olympics Games, Common Wealth Games and SA Games among others.

A role model for any sports journalist, Malik has penned 12 books in sports, over 300 research papers and many magazines. He has published 5,000 articles, features and columns in various papers as of now and is still very active.

Malik rose to fame as a hockey commentator for Radio Pakistan. Malik received the best commentator’s award for two consecutive years in 1999 and 2000 and has the experience of over 268 international matches as radio commentator.

Malik, who believes in hard work, is currently working for the development of sports journalism in Asia. Asian Sports journalism is prospering in his visionary leadership.
