President-elect Paudel gives up party membership



KATHMANDU: Newly-elected President Ram Chandra Paudel has renounced his affiliation with the Nepali Congress (NC).

A senior leader of NC, he was elected to the post of President on March 9.

Paudel today wrote to the NC central office, informing it about his dissociation with the party as its member since he has been elected the President, said the party’s chief secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel.

President-elect Paudel is scheduled to take an oath of office and secrecy tomorrow.

The Office of the President has made preparation for organizing a special ceremony at 1:00 pm on Monday for the administration of oath to the newly-elected President.
