Govt extends campaign against elephantiasis



KATHMANDU: The government has extended the campaign against elephantiasis for five more days.

Earlier, the time of medicine against elephantiasis was slated till today. Director at Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, Dr Chuman Lal Das, shared that the campaign against elephantiasis was extended by five more days.

Now, the medicine would be distributed till March 14. The campaign was launched from February 23 till date.

Das said as there were numerous holidays during the campaign and hence it was extended for five more days.

The campaign has been launched in 15 districts- Jhapa, Morang, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Bara, Rasuwa, Lamjung, Parbat, Baglung, Kapilvastu, Banke, Dang and Kailali.

The medicine is provided from the booths of ward office, health institutions, community buildings, schools and religious places.

The medicine is provided to the persons above two years.
