KATHMANDU: Voting for the post of the President has ended and the result will be announced soon, the Election Commission (EC) said.

The voting for the president was held on Thursday from 10 am to 3 pm.

A total of 832 members of parliament (MPs) voted in the president election held at the Federal Parliament building in New Baneswor.

Only the members of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and Nepal Workers and Peasants Party did not participate in the process.

While the RPP has 14 MPs, the NWPP has only one MP in the HoR.

According to the EC, 18 MPs of the House of Representatives did not cast their votes.
