KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has accused CPN-Maoist Center of becoming an obstacle in finalizing the transitional justice law.
Addressing an orientation program for the parliamentarians organized at the party headquarters in Chaysal, Lalitpur on Saturday, Oli accused the Chairman of the Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ of not allowing him to finalize the transitional justice law quite often.
He also claimed that Maoist center leaders created disruptions in the tasks of Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Commission for the Enforced Disappeared Persons.
Former Prime Minister Oli suggested Prime Minister Prachanda to take this matter seriously saying that UML is of the opinion that the peace process should be concluded immediately.
During the training program, the UML chairman accused the Maoist Center chair of breaking the December 25 agreement and requested him (Prachanda) to make corrections by seeking national consensus on the presidential candidate set by UML.
Oli mentioned it as an irony that those who are destroying the constitution step by step are making statements saying that the constitution is at stake.
The UML chair claimed that the presidential candidate set by Nepali Congress senior leader Ramchandra Paudel was not a good candidate as he had curbed the rights of parliamentarians when he (Poudel) was the Speaker of the House.
Oli said that the parties and leaders in the government are working against the national interest for the sake of power and UML will stop it.
He urged his party MPs not to fall into any confusion as UML is committed to the country and the people as well as the constitution.
