Man attempts self-immolation in Jhapa



JHAPA: Few weeks after the self-immolation of a man in Kathmandu, another man has attempted self-immolation in Jhapa.

According to District Police Office Jhapa, a man from Birtamod-7 attempted self-immolation by spraying petrol on his body at Birtamod Muktichowk.

He was rescued and taken to the hospital in a burning condition.
DSP Khagendra Rijal, the spokesperson of Jhapa Police, informed that the injured man is undergoing treatment at B&C Hospital in Birtamod. His back is burnt.
The cause of the attempted self-immolation has not been revealed.
The investigation is underway for further details, DSP Rijal added.
