‘Rajdrohi Rajneta’ to be screened to mark 7th death anniversary of ex-PM Koirala



KATHMANDU: A documentary entitled ‘Rajdrohi Rajneta’ is to be screened on the occasion of the 7th memorial years of former Prime Minister Sushil Koirala.

The documentary is based on the biography of the first people-elected Prime Minster of Nepal, BP Koirala.

The documentary would be freely screened five times on coming February 11 (Saturday) under the aegis of the Sushil Koirala Memorial Foundation, member-secretary of the Foundation, Atul Koirala said.

As informed, the documentary has minutely showcased why the Nepali Congress (NC) founder BP Koirala had returned to Nepal after eight years in exile in 16 Poush 2036 without caring eight sedition charges against him and how the referendum was declared.

Koirala further shared that the documentary has also presented BP’s efforts for national unity adopting the epochal reconciliation policy when the country’s nationalism was grappling with the crisis.

The documentary was developed on the occasion of Democracy Day in Falgun 7 last year.

It was screened twice in the federal capital, Kathmandu, and once in Gandaki province capital, Pokhara.

The documentary was prepared in collaboration with anveshannews.com. Chief Editor of anveshannews.com, Jagat Nepal said the state has not placed priority on preserving such historical records.
