Sudurpaschim’s Rawal in trouble as Unmukti Party not giving vote of confidence

KATHMANDU: Even though the Chief Minister (CM) of Sudurpaschim Province, Rajendra Rawal, is seeking a vote of confidence today, the Nagarik Unmukti Party is unlikely to vote for him.

Ranjita Shrestha, Chairperson of the Nagarik Unmukti Party, has already said that her party will not give a vote of confidence to CM Rawal in the current situation.

Shrestha and other leaders on Tuesday met with the party’s leader Resham Chaudhary, who is serving his life in the central jail, and reached a conclusion of not giving a vote of confidence to Chief Minister Rawal.

Rawal is scheduled to take a vote of confidence in the provincial assembly on Wednesday.

But Shrestha has categorically said that her party will not give a vote of confidence as their demands were yet to be fulfilled.

“We will not give a vote of confidence, because our bottom line is that the provincial government has not given any indication of addressing our demands,” she said.

If the Nagarik Unmukti Party does not give a vote of confidence to CM Rawal, the CPN-UML-led Sudrpaschim Provincial government will be in crisis.

In order to prevent such a crisis, CPN-UML leaders are constantly trying to woo the Nagarik Unmukti Party leaders.
