Government transfers 26 Joint Secretaries

KATHMANDU: The government has transferred 26 Joint Secretaries.

A meeting of the cabinet held on Monday made the decision to this effect.

According to Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers sources, joint secretaries working in various ministries, departments, commissions, states and agencies have been transferred.

Even though the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Public Administration used to make transfers of Joint Secretaries, the cabinet decided to transfer Joint Secretaries this time.

The Director General of the Department of Transport Management Dr. Tokraj Pandey has been transferred to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, while Indra Mani Pokharel, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Population, has been transferred to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.

Similarly, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Bhupal Baral, has been transferred to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Kedarnath Sharma to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ramesh Kumar KC to the Ministry of Health and Population and Baburam Subedi to the Secretariat of the National Planning Commission.

Similarly, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Sewantak Pokharel, Joint Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Shree Krishna Nepal, and Dhaniram Sharma of the National Planning Commission have been transferred to the Ministry of Finance.

Ram Prasad Acharya, Secretary of the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Gandaki Province, Pokhara; Ramesh Aryal, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, and Jhak Prasad Acharya, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, have also been transferred to the Ministry of Finance.

Similarly, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Baburam Bhandari has been transferred to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology; and Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Social Development Deepak Lamichhane has been transferred to the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation.

Similarly, the Director General of the Department of Environment, Namaraj Ghimire has been transferred to the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation; and Bishwa Prakash Aryal of the Election Commission to the Commission for the investigation of the Disappeared Persons.

Joint Secretary Sushila Aryal of the Ministry of Labor Employment and Social Security has been transferred to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration; Mohan Raj Chapagain of the Ministry of Urban Development to the Road Infrastructure.

Similarly, Ashok Kumar Sah, Secretary of the Ministry of Province No. 1 has been transferred to the Ministry of Road Infrastructure and Urban Development.

The government has transferred Dinesh Sagar Bhusal, State Secretary, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, Karnali Province, to the Home Ministry; Jitendra Basnet, Joint Controller General of the Comptroller General’s Office to Home Ministry; and Rudra Prasad Pandit, Registrar of Cooperative Department, also to the Home Ministry.

Similarly, the Director General of the Revenue Research Department Madan Dahal and Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Uttar Kumar Khatri has been transferred to the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security.

Secretary of Finance and Cooperatives Lumbini Province Netra Prasad Subedi has been sent to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and Joint Secretary of Ministry of Finance Yagya Koirala to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies.
