White moth dangerous to eye



KATHMANDU: A white moth is harmful to the eye, an investigation has said. It caries bacteria that is dangerous to the eyesight. It is called a milkweed sap that causes sore to the eyesight.

This decease can occur mostly during the summer season. But, in Nepal, it occurs around the time of Dashain festival that falls in autumn season.

Sap had broken out forty years ago in the world. It was diagnosed in 2032 BS for the first time in Nepal.

According to Dr Anu Manandhar, an eye specialist, it is caused by a white month. When children catch it by their hands or strike it with a slipper, its dust on its wings fly to the children’s eye and case problem to it.
