Communications Minister Sharma for regular orientation for online news portals

KATHMANDU: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has suggested that Press Council Nepal should regularly give orientation to the editors of both new and running news portals.

Minister Sharma asked the Council to further intensify and effectively conduct the training and orientation on the code of conduct.

Likewise, Minister Sharma said that the Council should proactively work to hold mass media more accountable through the implementation of the code of conduct.

Minister Sharma said that the Council Museum was a platform to preserve the traditional medium of the mass media and thus was a vital job for the new generation.

She also vowed to coordinate with the stakeholders to make the Press Council Act more contextual and manage the issues of the media.
