KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel reached Baluwatar on Thursday morning to meet Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda.
According to Poudel’s Secretariat, Prime Minister Dahal and Poudel discussed current political events, including the election of Speaker, among other issues.
The House of Representatives is meeting today at 11 am.
CPN-UML lawmaker Devraj Ghimire and Nepali Congress MP Ishwari Neupane are candidates for the post of the Speaker.
It may be noted that the Nepali Congress gave a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Dahal on January 10.
Despite giving a vote of confidence to the Prime Minister, the Nepali Congress has made its own lawmaker Neupane a candidate for the Speaker.
The Nepali Congress has been demanding the post of the President with the Maoist Center.
