PM Dahal expanding cabinet today

New ministers to be sworn in today itself



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda is expanding the cabinet today (Tuesday).

The ruling parties finalized the distribution of ministerial portfolios on Monday evening.

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane said that the new ministers will be sworn in on Tuesday.

He, however, did not give the official information about the portfolios as the parties would hold internal discussions before the swearing-in at 1 o’clock on Tuesday.

The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), the fourth largest party in the ruling coalition, has got three ministries including the Deputy Prime Minister.

According to highly-placed source, RPP is likely to get the Minister of Energy, Ministry of Urban Development, and Ministry of Youth and Sports.

RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden, who will participate in the government as the Deputy Prime Minister is likely to become the Minister of Energy.

Similarly, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has also got there ministries, including one Deputy Prime Minister.

RSP has got the Ministry of Home Affairs with the party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane as the Home Minister.

RSP will get the Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Labor.

Lamichhane, who is also the Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), said that the all-party meeting, including the Nepali Congress called by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda will be held only after the swearing-in of the newly-appointed ministers.
