UML’s Leela Giri appointed CM of Lumbini Province



LUMBINI: CPN-UML’s Leela Giri has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Lumbini Province.

State chief Amik Sherchan appointed Giri as the Chief Minister.

Giri has garnered the support of 58 state assembly members, including 3 MPs from Loktantrik Samajwasi Party and 2 independent MPs along with the ruling coalition.

In Lumbini Province, UML has 29 seats, Maoist Center 10, Rastriya Prajatantra Party 4, Janata Sanajwadi Party and Janamat 3 members each.

Likewise, the Nagarik Unmukti Party has 4 members and two independent members.

The newly-appointed will be sworn-in on Thursday afternoon.
