JANAKPURDHAM: Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) parliamentary party leader Saroj Yadav has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Madhesh on Wednesday.
In line in the power sharing agreement of the ruling coalition in Kathmandu, Yadav submitted his claim to the province chief Harishankar Mishra with the support of 63 MPs.
Mishra appointed Yadav as the chief minister today.
In 107 member province assembly of Madhes, a chief minister candidate has to show the support of 54 lawmakers to get appointed to the post.
JSP leader Yadav entertained the support of 63 members: 16 from JSP, 23 from UML,13 from Janamat Party, 9 from Maoist Center and one each from Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Nepal Sanghiya Samajbadi Party and an independent candidate.
Newly appointed yadav was the province Speaker before.
