KATHMANDU: Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Thag Bahadur KC of the area police office, Butwal, has been suspended for taking bribes from gold traders.

A police source said that the Ministry of Home Affairs suspended KC on Thursday on the recommendation of the Police Headquarters.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police investigated him after getting information that KC recovered 35 tolas of gold from the businessman and bargained for the money without proceeding with the case process.

Police arrested him after recovering 35 tolas of gold, and Rs 850 thousand from his residence.
