PM Deuba will lead new government: Dr. Arju Rana

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader and Proportional Member of Parliament, Dr. Arju Rana Deuba has claimed that a new government will be formed under the leadership of incumbent Prime Minister and NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Speaking to the media persons after the certificate reception program organized by the Election Commission, leader Rana said that NC would obviously claim the next premiership and that also under the party President Deuba.

“Although it is natural for CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to claim for the post of Prime Minister, NC should lead the government as per the people’s mandate,” she said, adding, “NC will elect President Deuba as the parliamentary party leader.”

When asked about the suggestion that the leader of the parliamentary party should be selected unanimously, Dr. Rana said, “NC is a big party. Being a democratic party, it is natural that there are many claims here. I believe that one should go to the election to establish oneself in politics rather than to be unanimous. Deubaji contested in the parliamentary party election against Girijababu.”
