Garbage collected from tourist site Panchpokhari



SINDHUPALCHOWK: As high as 500 kilogram of waste has been managed by conducting a cleanup campaign in touristic site Panchpokhari in Sindhupalchowk district.

The waste materials were classified on the basis of their categorization, biodegradable and non-biodegradable, and were brought upto to Bhotang area with the help of porters, Harka Tamang, a campaigner involved in the cleanup said.

The cleanup campaign of Panchpokhari of Thangpal Rural Municipality was started from Tuesday with support from Nepal Tourism Board, New Vision Nepal, Arso Nepal and TG H Nepal.

Panchpokhari is one of the most sought after destinations in Nepal and was enlisted in the site to visit in Visit Nepal Year 2022, Chairman of Thangpal Rural Municipality Tasi Lama said.

Lama said that the cleanup campaign was conducted to protect the environment of the site adding that plastic bags, bottles and other wastes by the pilgrims and visitors had piled up there.
