EC unveils final result of general election 2022
The Election Commission (EC) published the final result of the parliamentary elections held on November 20 this year.
The Commission made public the results of the elections held under the First-Past-The-Post (FPTP) and Proportional Representation (PR) categories.
The CPN-UML has won the highest number of seats under the PR category followed by Nepali Congress (NC) in the election held on November 20.
The UML garnered 34 seats, NC 32, Maoist Center 14, Rastriya Swatantra Party 13, Rastriya Prajatantra Party 7, Janata Samajwadi Party and Janamat Party 5 each under the PR system.
EC thanks governments for holding elections successfully
The Election Commission (EC) has extended thanks to all three tiers of the government for discharging their crucial roles in successfully accomplishing the elections to the members of House of Representatives and Province Assemblies.
Issuing a statement on Wednesday, the Election Commission (EC) thanked the Government of Nepal, province governments, local governments, office of the chief returning officers and returning officers, local administration, employees and security personnel involved in election, political parties and candidates for playing pivotal roles in competing the epochal tasks of carrying out elections.
I’ll lead the government as a PM soon: Prachanda
The CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has claimed that he would lead the country soon as a Prime Minister.
Inaugurating the Diamond Jubilee anniversary of Mahendra Basic School in Pokhara on Wednesday, Chairman Dahal said that he is likely to become the Prime Minister of the country soon.
“If I receive your blessings and good wishes, I will soon reach the place to lead the country. I have decided that this will be my third term,” he said, adding, “My first term passed without understanding the legal process properly. I am proud that I did something important for the country in my second term.”
SC receives writ demanding revocation of Rabi Lamichhane’s HoR membership
A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking the revocation of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane’s post of House of Representatives (HoR) member.
Yubaraj Poudel of Sindhuli filed the petition against RSP Chair Lamichhane, on Wednesday, demanding that he (Lamichhane) should not be sworn in as an HoR member.
President Bhandari inaugurates Shreeram Mithila Polytechnic Institute
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has inaugurated Shreeram Mithila Polytechnic Institute at her birthplace, Ram Prasad Rai Rural Municipality-5, Manebhanjyang, Ambote.
In her address to the inaugural programme, President Bhandari expressed her confidence that the technical institute would ease local people to access technical education.

Ghiring substation built in Tanahu district
Construction of the Ghiring substation 33/11 KV has been completed at Ghiring Rural Municipality-4 in Tanahu district.
The substation was built under the social development programme of the Tahanu Hydropower Project 140 megawatt built by Tanahu Hydropower Limited, a subsidiary of the Nepal Electricity Authority.
NC senior leader Poudel seeks Deuba’s support for premiership
Senior leader of Nepali Congress (NC) Ram Chandra Poudel has sought NC President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s support to become the prime minister.
Poudel met Deuba at the latter’s residence in Baluwatar and held a one-on-one meeting asking for support to become the next prime minister.
