KMC runs free health camps to mark its anniversary

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has set up a free health camp and free medicine distribution program on the occasion of its 28th anniversary known as the KMC Day.

The health camp was organized by the KMC in association with the Nepali Army in the sports ground nearby Martyr Gate in Kathmandu. The event was part of the anniversary celebration program of the eldest metropolitan city in the country.

KMC Mayor Balendra Shah inaugurated the health camp which provided free medical examination for ailment related to cardiology, chest pain, gynecologist, pediatrics, eye, ear, nose, throat, orthopedics, physiotherapy, psychiatry among others.

Medicines will be distributed for free to those needing the drugs in the camp that runs from 8 am to 1 pm today and tomorrow, the KMC said.

The health camp employing a mobile hospital (in a vehicle) and provided ultrasound, video x-ray and x-ray services among others to the residents of the KMC.

The health camp inaugural event was attended by Chief of Army Staffs Prabhuram Sharma and high-ranking officials of the Nepali Army as well as KMC’s high-level officials.
