KATHMANDU: To ensure inclusiveness and proportional representation (PR) of all communities, including marginalized communities in the parliament, the Election Commission (EC) has already asked the parties to send the names of the members to represent their parties in the House of Representatives.
The EC has asked the CPN-UML to send names of 19 female members out of the 34 seats won by the party under the PR category.
Likewise, Nepali Congress (NC) has to send 29 names of women members out of the 32 seats won by the party.
Meanwhile, the Maoist Center has to send the names of 12 women members out of the 14 seats won by the party under the PR category.
According to the EC, the Rastriya Swatantra Party will have to send 5 names of women members, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) 5, the Janata Samajwadi Party 4, and Janamat Party 2 women members.
Under the PR category, four parties got 10 percent or more seats.
Similarly, 3 parties got less than 10 percent of seats.
Meanwhile, the CPN-UML will have to send 11 members from the Khas Arya community.
According to the EC, CPN-UML has got the most 34 seats out of 110 under the PR category according to which the party has to send 11 people from Khas Arya, 10 from indigenous communities, 5 each from Dalits and Madhesi communities, 2 from Tharu and one each from Muslim and backward region.
The UML has to mandatorily send the names of 19 women, out of the 34 PR seats, from each category under the PR system.
Similarly, the Nepali Congress will have to send 10 members from the Khas Arya cluster.
Out of the 32 seats won by the NC under the PR category, the party can send a maximum of 10 names from Khas Arya, 9 from the indigenous community, 5 each from Dalits and Madhesi community, 2 from Tharu and 1 each from Muslims and backward region.
NC will have to compulsorily send the names of 29 women from all categories.
Similarly, the Maoist Center has to send one member each from Tharu, a Muslim and backward region.
Out of the 14 seats, the Maoist Center has to send the names of 4 members each from Khas Arya and indigenous communities.
Likewise, the party has to send 2 members each from Dalit and Madhesi and one each from Tharu, Muslim, and backward regions to the HoR.
The party has to send the names of 12 women members from all groups.
The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) will have to send the names of 4 members from the Khas Arya category.
Out of the 13 seats under the PR category, the RSP can send a maximum of 4 members from Khas Arya, 3 from the indigenous community, 2 each from Dalit and Madhesi and one each from Tharu, Muslim and backward region.
The part has to send the names of 5 women members from all groups compulsorily.
The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has to send two names each and a maximum of 3 names each from Khas Arya and the indigenous community in the HoR.
Out of the 5 seats won by the Janata Samajwadi Party, it can send a maximum of two members from Khas Arya and the indigenous community.
Meanwhile, out of the 5 seats won by Janamat Party, it can send a maximum of 2 members should be sent from Khas Arya and the indigenous community.
