Police officials order not to allow suspended CR Rana at SC unless getting further order

KATHMANDU: High officials of Nepal Police have ordered the police stationed at the Supreme Court (SC) not to allow the suspended Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana to enter the apex court unless getting the SC administration’s order.

After the General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Bharatraj Paudel, sent a letter stating that the impeachment motion against Rana was ineffective, the suspended Chief Justice prepared to appear in the Supreme Court.

But Nepal Bar Association has already been protesting at the Supreme Court so as to bar the suspended CJ from entering the SC premises.

Meanwhile, government spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has responded that the impeachment against Rana is still alive.

On February 13, the then 98 MPs filed an impeachment motion against Chief Justice Rana. But the impeachment process was affected due to the November 20 election.
