KATHMANDU: A meeting of the ruling coalition which took place at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar on Monday evening agreed to take the alliance ahead.

This is the first meeting of the ruling coalition after the November 20 election.

Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, United Socialist Chairman Madhav Nepal, and other leaders attended in the meeting.

NC senior leaders Ram Chandra Paudel, Purna Bahadur Khadka, Prakash Sharan Mahat, and senior Vice Chairman of Maoist Center Narayankaji Shrestha, and Durga Paudel from Rastriya Janamorcha also participated in the meeting, a Baluwatar source said.

Reviewing the outcome of the election,  the leaders agreed that the coalition deserved more seats, yet could not clinch all due to some lapses in the leadership at local levels.
