Dr Sashank Koirala said he would materialize the commitments he made before people during the election. Dr Koirala, who has been elected a member of the House of Representatives from constituency no 1 of Nabalparasi Purba, said it on Thursday after victory.

RPP Chair Lingden clinches HoR seat from Jhapa-3

Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chair Rajendra Lingden has won the election to the Member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from the Jhapa constituency-3.

According to Jhapa-3 Chief Election Officer Chandramani Gyawali, Lingden obtained 40,662 votes to win the election against ruling alliance candidate Krishna Prasad Sitaula of the Nepali Congress who secured 37,386.

Ram Kumar Rai emerges winner for HoR seat from Khotang

Maoist Centre candidate Ram Kumar Rai from Khotang district has won the election to Member of the House of Representatives from constituency no. 1 in the district.

UML’s Dhakal emerges victorious in Banke-1

CPN-UML candidate Surya Dhakal has won the election to the Member of House of Representatives (HoR) from Banke Constituency-1. Dhakal garnered 25,026 votes. His closest contender Maheshwor Gahatraj (Athak) of the Maoist Centre got 19,632 votes.

NC, UML, and Maoist Centre in top three of FPTP counts

The counting of votes under the elections to the Member of the House of Representatives and Provinces Assembly is underway. According to the Election Commission, in the counting till this afternoon, the Nepali Congress (NC) has won the highest number of seats in the first-past-the-post (FPTP) electoral system.

Emergence of Rastriya Swatantra Party is a trivial matter: Oli

CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli said the emergence of the newly-formed Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is a trivial issue, which does not need any attention. “This is not a big deal to worry,” Oli told journalists at the Bhadrapur Airport in Jhapa on Thursday, saying, “This is nothing but a hullabaloo,” Oli sniffed sarcasm.

NC leader Paudel elected HoR member from Tanahun 1

Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel was elected the House of Representatives member from Tanahun constituency 1. He defeated his nearest rival CPN (UML)’s Ek Bahadur Rana by a margin of 5,388 votes. He got 25,318 votes while Rana garnered 19,925 votes.

Maoist Chairman Prachanda elected to HoR from Gorkha-2

Chairman of CPN Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has been elected from Gorkha Constituency-2 as a member of the House of Representatives. Prachanda garnered 26,103 votes while his closest competitor, Kabindra Burlakoti of the Rastriya Swatantra Party got 12,637 votes.

Kamal Thapa concedes defeat
