UML leader Yogesh Bhattarai elected from Taplejung



KATHMANDU: CPN-UML leader Yogesh Bhattarai has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Taplejung amid tough competition.

Bhattarai secured 21,946 votes, while his closest contender Khel Prasad Budha Chhetri of the Maoist Center secured 21,738 votes.

Yogesh was trailing by less than 10 votes from the initial stage of counting.

Bhattarai has been elected from Taplejung for the second time.

He was elected from Taplejung in the previous election as well.
