Int’l conference of oncologists kicks off in Jhapa



JHAPA: An international conference of oncologists ‘Purbanchal Cancer Congress 2022’  has begun at Mechinagar of Jhapa district on Saturday.

Two hundred oncologists from Nepal, India and Bangladesh have been participating in the two-day conference jointly organized by Purbanchal Cancer Hospital, Birtamod, and Nepal Cancer Foundation.

Medical Director of Purbanchal Cancer Hospital and Program Director of the Conference, Dr Birendra Yadav, said the conference would talk about the situation of cancer disease spreading across the world. The cancer specialists would exchange medical experience about ongoing scientific research, investigation and the technology for the treatment of the fatal disease.

A total of 20 scientific working papers and 10 poster working papers would be presented in the event.

Director of Purbanchal Cancer Hospital, Dr Nirajan Prasain, shared that it was the matter of pride to organize such conference in Jhapa district.

Similarly, oncologist at Sarvodaya Cancer Hospital of India, Dr Dinesh Pendharkar, said discussion and exchange of experience in the conference would increase new technology in treatment of cancer and this will make hospital service outstanding.
