Dr Arzu says she is confident of alliance victory



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) central member Dr Arzu Rana Deuba has said the ruling parties’ alliance is sure to win the elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and Province Assembly (PA).

The HoR and PA election is taking place in a single phase throughout the country on November 20.

Talking to media persons briefly at Janakpur Airport today, Dr Deuba said most of rebel candidates from the parties in the alliance have already withdrawn candidacies and cadres of the respective parties would be abiding by consensus to vote the alliance candidates, indicating the alliance’s success in the elections.

Dr Deuba, who is also the spouse of Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, took time to claim the incumbent government was credited with good works in a short time and the NC leadership has already won the hearts of people.

As she said, the NC is determined to go with the existing alliance during and after the election together with the alliance, and voters are expected to vote its candidates.

Rana reached Janakpur to observe the Chhath festival.

On Monday, she is scheduled to visit Nagarain municipality, the home town of former Vice-President, former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi to observe the Chhath rituals, according to NC Dhanusha constituency 3 regional president Dhirendra Nidhi.

Rana and Bimalendra Nidhi will reach Jatai along the Nepal-India border at Nagarain municipality for observing the Nepal-India border.
