Ruling coalition urges to elect common candidates in upcoming elections



KATHMANDU: The ruling coalition of five-parties has urged its leaders and cadres as well as the voters to help elect their common candidates in the upcoming elections.

The voting for the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly election is slated simultaneously on November 20 this year.

In a joint press statement issued by the leaders of the political parties in the ruling coalition today, they appealed the voters to elect the common candidates.

The statement was issued by Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal and Rastriya Janamorcha Chairperson Chitra Bahadur KC.

Furthermore, they pledged to address disputes ensued in some places regarding seat allocation among the coalition partners through discussions. The list of the candidates contesting election representing the current coalition was also made public, according to the statement.

However, in some constituencies, there will be friendly competition among the coalition partners’ candidates. The coalition partners’ candidates would treat each other with respect and cordially while contesting from those places, the statement read.
