Referring to Rawal and Bhusal, UML Chair Oli wonders if same old faces should always get opportunities

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that it is natural that some leaders did not get tickets to upcoming elections.

At a party program organized in Lalitpur on Saturday, referring to Rawal and Bhusal, without naming them, Oli said some leaders were not given tickets this time as they have had enough opportunities within the party for long and had never spoken a word in favor of the party.

Oli clarified that it is natural for those enjoying power, public positions and privileges since 2048 BS to not get tickets this time as he believed that others should also should get opportunities.

“Some have been lawmakers since 2048 and enjoyed their fair share of power, authority. There is no ministry that they have not helmed. This time, they are deprived and there is a cry as to why they did not get chance. Is it necessary for only one person to always get chance?” he wondered.

The UML chair urged the workers to dismiss support to those who do not say a word in the interest of the party and are trying to make a laughing stock of the party.

“It’s natural. Others also have to take their turn. Though they have made huge contributions to the party, this does not mean that the parliament will not function, and the country will not be governed without them,” reasoned Oli.

Stating that many leaders and workers were working in favor of the party despite being deprived of opportunities for long, Oli expressed displeasure towards the situation wherein questions were raised when just two persons were concerned.
