POKHARA: Nepali Army (NA) is at the top position with nine medals including two golds, three silvers and four bronze in the ongoing 9th National Games.
Similarly, Bagmati Pradesh has won four medals including two gold, one silver and one bronze.
The Armed Police Force (APF) is third position with nine medals including one gold, two silver and six bronze.
The games are being held in Pokhara.
On Tuesday, APF’s Rajendra Gajurel won gold medal in the ‘Single Saver’ category of Fencing while Rama Singh of Nepal Army won in the ‘Foyer’ category for women and Omkar Singh of Bagmati Province won the gold medal in the ‘EP category’ for men.
Gajurel of APF won the first gold for the team in the competition held at the badminton hall in Pokhara Stadium.
Prior to this, he had won silver medal in the team event in the seventh National Games.
Likewise, Nepal Army’s Upendra Bahadur Shahi won the silver medal while Army’s Raghuveer Chandra and APF’s Khemraj Khatri won bronze medals in the Single Saver category.
Singh, the gold medalist in the women’s foyer category had won gold medal in the 7th National Games and the silver medal in the 8th.
APF’s Manisha Rai won silver medal and APF’s Manisa Thapa and Anita Adhikari bagged bronze medals.
In the men’s EP category, Ram Thapa of Nepal Army won the silver medal.
Similarly, Vijay Adhikari of Gandaki region and Min Karki of APF managed to win bronze medals.
