29 candidates withdraw candidacy from the closed list



KATHMANDU: Twenty-nine candidates from various political parties have withdrawn their candidacy from the closed list under the proportional representation for the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives and Province Assembly, according to the Election Commission.

According to the election calendar, withdrawing candidacy from the closed list could be done until October 3 between 10 am and 12 pm.

The candidates who withdrew their candidacy include nine under the HoR and 20 under the Province Assembly, said EC.

The EC has already informed the respective party about the candidacy withdrawal, it has been said.

According to the election calendar, the same group can nominate another candidate to the vacant places that would remain because of the withdrawal of candidacy between October 6 and 8 (until 3 pm).

And, the political party concerned should submit the name list to the EC.
