KATHMANDU: Rape-accused cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane is to arrive in Nepal today.

Earlier, he informed through social media that he would return to Nepal today and fight against the charges labeled against him. He has claimed he is innocent and expressed full faith in Nepal’s justice system.

“With great hope and strength, I will reach Nepal on October 6 and fight the legal battle against the false allegations,” he said through social media. “I am innocent and I reiterate that I have full faith in the justice system.”

He also believed he would get justice as soon as possible and all charges against him will not be proved.

A minor girl had filed a complaint against Sandeep for raping her.

Lamichhane’s return to Nepal has been delayed after the allegations were made.

He has not disclosed anything about his whereabouts.

After he did not return, the police issued a diffusion notice against Lamichhane.
