NC’s Koirala faction in Thamel to increase pressure against PM Deuba

KATHMANDU: With the election date approaching closer, the Shekhar Koirala faction of Nepali Congress (NC) has further intensified talks to strengthen their hold in the party. They have assembled in Thamel on Monday to chalk out further strategy.

According to NC sources, the leaders assembled in Thamel under the coordination of former lawmaker Jagadhiswor Narsingh KC.

The Koirala faction has been demanding the party establishment to make correction in the closed list of the proportional candidates meant for the forthcoming election. The faction has warned to revolt and go against the coalition provided the list is not amended by October 2.

NC’s Koirala faction has been accusing Prime Minister and party President Sher Bahadur Deuba of marginalizing the leaders who contributed the most and giving opportunities to the newcomers in the party.
