‘Search and destroy campaign’ in place for dengue control: Minister Khapung

KATHMANDU: Minister for Health and Population, Bhawani Prasad Khapung, has said that the government has been carrying out ‘search and destroy campaign’ to control dengue in the country.

He made it clear that the campaign was in place under the leadership of the Chief of Health Division in coordination with the local level concerned.

Minister Khapung said that the campaign was launched up to ward level.

“Local level is the closest government to the people. So, if people’s representatives at ward level take the lead, the ‘search and destroy campaign’ would be effective,” he added.

He reminded that the general public is appealed to conduct the campaign every Saturday morning.

He also informed that discussions with schools and hotel associations were underway to plan further activities under the campaign.

All hospitals were reminded to provide treatment to the dengue patients.
