Fire at Dhobighat scraps depot injures three



KATHMANDU: The fire that broke out in the  scraps (kawadi) depot at around 1 pm this afternoon at Dhobighat in Lalitpur has not yet been brought under control.

According to Kathmandu police, three people were injured when the fire broke out at Bachha Sah’s depot, located outside Dhobighat Ring Road, around 1 pm on Wednesday. The injured people are undergoing treatment in various hospitals.

Sah, an Indian national has been running the kawadi business for the past 14 years and had given employment to five people.

The injured have sustained burnt on their faces.

Primary investigation shows the fire started from the electric shock, we are investigating for the details, police said.

Fire brigades from Lalitpur and Bhaktapur, Nepal police, the locals and the locals have been trying to douse the fire.
