PM Deuba assures of free and fair elections

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the government was committed to conducting the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly in a fair, free and fearless environment.

Addressing the ceremony organized by the Main Ceremony Committee today at the Nepali Army Pavilion in Tundikhel on the occasion of the 8th Constitution Day, he expressed his belief that the election would ensure the peaceful transfer of power in the country according to the democratic system and will help to enhance the vitality of the country’s Constitution.

Expressing his belief that the government will get everyone’s support in conducting the election, Prime Minister Deuba made it clear that the prosperity, well-being, and self-esteem of the entire Nepali people were his only concern.

“On the occasion of Constitution Day, I call on all political parties, civil society, intellectuals, private sector and others to join the efforts toward development and unity, considering the interests of the country and the people as paramount, without any prejudice or prejudice,” he said.

Prime Minister Deuba said that it was necessary to protect and promote the country’s independence and self-respect by improving the standard of living of the people and to fulfill the dream of prosperity as soon as possible.

He clarified that the decisive power in democracy rests with the sovereign people, and equal access and participation of all classes and communities in the country will be ensured at all levels of the structure of the state.

Prime Minister Deuba said, “In a democracy, all people should be able to equally enjoy the rights guaranteed by the constitution and laws.”

Stating that the implementation of the Constitution has accelerated and the government is moving in the direction of fulfilling the aspirations of the country and the people by maintaining political stability, peace, and good governance in the country, he pointed out the need to bring about a radical change in thinking, actions, tendencies and working style to institutionalize this system along with political change.
