Province government sensitive for child rights: Karnali CM



SURKHET: Karnali Province Chief Minister Jeevan Bahadur Shahi has said the province government is sensitive for the protection of child rights.

In his message of best wishes on the occasion of the ‘ National Children’s Day, 2079 BS’, the Chief Minister said the province had taken significant efforts for the protection and conservation of the rights of children.

In a message, he said, “The Karnali government continues the ‘bank account of daughter, lifelong security’ program’ under which 20 thousand daughters of the Province have benefited so far.” Likewise, psychosocial council program at schools and the community-level has been implemented, according to him.

Also, as the Chief Minister stated, various programs targeting children such as the ‘children with the chief minister’, ‘aid for children from the indigent and vulnerable communities’, ‘street children rescue and rehabilitation,’ scholarship for poor students’ and ‘school nurse program’ have been implemented.

Besides, Province Child Rights Committee’ formation process has neared the final phase. “The Province Government is always committed to the enhancement of the rights of the children,” the message read.

The 58th National Children’s Day was observed today with the theme of ‘Foundation of child-friendly society; responsible family, accountable government’ by organizing various programs across the country.
